PostSubject: Bio Fueled or Bio Fooled?   Tue Aug 07, 2007 10:00 am

I am hearing very mixed articles on Bio-Fuels, It is rumoured that Henry Ford powered his first engine on hemp oil over 100 years ago. Should we really be considering a product that does this when with the technology potential we have there are far more effective fuels available.

The nature of the far more effective fuels is controversial. I hope to see some very fine and well presented arguments in favour for and against. Clearly with the introduction of the Air- Car in India (French Engineering), The Tesla Car in the US and the new British 700BHP Lightning Car Company Prototype coming gradually on the market, should we not be considering zero-emission transport. The technology is clearly here that effective family cars and vans could be easily manufactured.

I contacted MDI (Air Car Manufacturers) they told me to do 75miles on a flat surface take 22Kw of Electricity at I worked it out the cost of £1.50 or $3.00U.S. I then contacted a local hardware store and enquired about installing a 1 KwH wind-turbine, they would supply and install it for about £1000 or $2000US. This would ineffect provide me twice the fuel to to about 2.5 daily US round trip commutes (providing there is wind). -For Free! No more trips to the pump EVER! How about combining this with the Solar Powered printouts in Solar?

Bio-Fuel or Bio-Fool!? Is it just for airlines or does EVERYONE have to be dependent on deforestation and increased food prices? For something we can get at a FRACTION OF THE PRICE!

What are your thoughts?
